My Daughter Was In ……

My new venture, working for myself, my own boss,

My new working environment, my home office, my beautiful office furniture,

My new projects, my clients, my deadlines, my success,

What more can I ask for?

At home for the children after school,

No rushing through the mass of metal on wheels,

I only answer to myself; I make all the decisions,

What more can I ask for?

No clocking in time, working as many hours as I choose,

No time for waking , no time for sleeping,

The freedom of being your own boss,

What more can I ask for?

Mummy I don’t see you,

Mummy you’re always in the office,

I don’t get a chance to speak to you,

Mummy you always look stressed,

Mummy you never smile anymore,

I want to speak but don’t want to disturb you.

My daughter was in tears.

My daughter was in tears, I say that with a heavy heart,

So why am I doing this?

I say it’s for my family, I say it’s for my children,

To give my children a better life, to spend more time with my family,

So why was my daughter in tears?

I was running away with my business,

Breathing, eating, business,

Night became day, day became night,

Clients became plentiful, business was booming,

I forgot the most precious, my daughter, my family,

Create balance, create constraints,

Don’t forget who you are, success comes with many obstacles,

Remind yourself why you’re in business,

Don’t wait to see your daughter in tears; it hurts like a bolt of lightning,

Wise words come with experience,

My daughter is smiling.
